2026 Field of Honor September 8-15
The Exchange Club of Greater Newburyport is excited to host our 17th annual Field of Honor® Tuesday September 8 through Tuesday September 15. The Field of Honor is a moving display of hundreds of American flags installed on Bartlet Mall in Newburyport. This event is free and open to the public both day and night – the field is illuminated during nighttime hours.
One of the event’s highlights is the Dedication Ceremony held on Sunday September 13th. The Field of Honor provides the community with an opportunity to recognize those who serve in the military, members of our police and fire departments, first responders, healthcare workers, essential workers, personal heroes – anyone who has served the community by demonstrating kindness, goodwill, and caring by putting the needs of others ahead of their own needs.
If you would like to make a flag dedication, please follow the instructions on this page. If you have any questions, please contact us.

This is a very special year with three important timelines converging – the 250th Birthday of the United States, the 25th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 tragedy, and the 50th Anniversary of the Exchange Club of Greater Newburyport. With this in mind, we are working hard to grow our support for our community and make this year’s events even better than last year’s events.
The local chapter of the Exchange Club was founded in 1976 and has been actively providing community service to the greater Newburyport area ever since. The Field of Honor is the club’s sole fundraising event.
