I’m so sorry to hear of your father’s passing. My husband Dennis (Woody) Woodruff served in the Navy with your father at So Weymouth. He started and ended his Navy career at So Weymouth. My husband retired as a Warrant Officer and returning to college at At Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA and graduating with a Master’s of Science in Education. He taught Special Education for 27 years.
I went to nursing school in Norfolk and got my RN license and worked at St Luke’s Hospital in Middleboro for 3 yrs while we were stationed at So Weymouth the last time. We retired to Chesapeake, VA for 10 yrs but them moved to Naples, ME when my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. After both my parents died we relocated to NC in 2018 to be closer to our daughters.
Your father was a wonderful man and a good friend to Woody. Your mother didn’t like your dad associating with his Navy friends so we lost contact over the years. I chose today to try and reestablish contact but alas, it’s too late. Please give my condolences to your Mom and Grandmother. My sincere sympathies to all of you.
Eileen Woodruff
