At our February meeting, the Exchange Club kicked off our event planning for the year. Our annual events include an April event focusing on the Prevention of Child Abuse, 3 scholarships for local high school students, placing American Flags along the race course for the 1st Lt. Derek Hines Soldiers Assistance Fund Flag Day 5K, Kids Day in the Park during Yankee Homecoming, and the Field of Honor in September. This is a special year with 3 important timelines converging –  the 250th Birthday of the Unites States, the 25th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 tragedy, and the 50th Anniversary of the Exchange Club of Greater Newburyport.

With a couple new members joining our ranks, we are hoping to make this year’s events even better than last year’s. With spring around the corner, we are looking forward to a busy and rewarding year ahead.
